Local Court of Kozhikode cancelled the bail plea of two accused in solar scam case. Saritha Nair & her husband Biju Radhakrishna failed to appear before the court after which an arrest warrant is issued against the two key accused. The court is scheduled for the next hearing on Feb 25.

Saritha Nair, Biju Radhakrishna & B. Manimon founded a solar energy company called Team Solar Renewable Energy Solution in 2013. Following the foundation, the trio duped several business houses in assurance to provide partnership in the business. Some of these were offered installation of solar power units but eventually landed empty-handed.

The case surfaced viral in 2014 when almost 60 cases were lodged against the prime accused. To gain the trust of customers, the trio expanded their roots to the CMO office. Nair accused many congress leaders over the case, ultimately the case landed in the hands of the CBI.

Abdul Majeed, owner of Associated Steels Yard was trapped into paying Rs. 42.7 lakh after assurance of providing franchises in solar panel & windmill farm companies. Chargesheet of the case filed by him was submitted in Dec 2013 & the trial began in Jan 2016.
