Knowing that agricultural importance The Cabinet committee of economic affairs approved the decision of “issues the guidelines of feeder level solarisation under component-c” taken by MNRE & State Government.

MNRE issued guidelines for feeder level solarisation under PM-KUSUM scheme, after consulting state governments. Ministry had issued detailed guidelines previously on 8th Nov 2019. In this scheme, the grid-connected agriculture pumps can be solarised with central & state subsidy of 30% each & farmer’s contribution of 40%. It is allowed to install a solar system having capacity up to 2 times of the pump capacity, the extra power generated will be purchased by DISCOM.

DISCOM/Power department will be the implementing agency in their respective areas. They are given guidelines for getting ownership or leasing land area near distribution sub-station(DSS). For calculating CFA, the estimated cost of solar power system installation is ₹3.5Cr./MW. Under this scheme of solarisation pump of any capacity is allowed, however, the CFA will be limited to solar capacity for 7.5Hp pump.

According to guidelines DISCOMs are directed to monitor solar power generation & performance of the solar power plant through the online system. To know more about the implementation under CAPEX model & RESCO model read the attached document.
