Indian Railways working to Solarize its passenger coaches

As per our Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal about 60 passenger coaches are already equipped with solar panels to meet the power demand of lights & fans.
In the Parliament, on Wednesday he said, “Railways introduced Solar Power Technology on passenger trains running between Sarai Rohila (Delhi) & Farrukh Nagar (Haryana) in July 2017 for meeting the light & fan load requirement.”
In addition, breakdown of solarized coaches was given as, 16 passenger coaches of DEMU trailer coaches in Delhi, 10 coaches in Swatchata Express in Delhi, 6 coaches of DEMU in Bihar, 10 non-AC passenger coaches of Lucknow-Varanasi intercity, 13 non-AC passenger coaches under CSR funding of IRFC in UP, 7 non-AC coaches in Janshatabdi Express in Tamil Nadu, 10 non-AC coaches at Mathura & 30 non-AC coaches at Lucknow-Varanasi Section.
